Yvonne Johnson, who lives in one of the flats, saw the police arrive.

She said: “I saw them get out and go upstairs I think.

“One of them had a camera and another was carrying a baton as they came back to the van.

“There’s been quite a lot happen in recent weeks – I think they were doing a stake out a few weeks ago but I can’t be sure.

“We don’t have the police here all the time.”

Ms Johnson also says that the road has problems with joy riders in the early hours of the morning.
