News: Asda sells PLANT that it claims will stop people snoring

Another Lincolnshire Highlights news story…

If you share a bed with another person, you’ll know how annoying it can be if your sleeping partner is keeping you awake by snoring.

And while it’s only an irritation that can leave you sleep deprived for most, snoring can cause serious problems in relationships, especially if one partner is being forced to manage on just a few hours kip.

There’s a range of medicines, sprays and other products out there to help, including specially designed pillows and beds.

But Asda has come up with an entirely different solution to the problem – a pineapple plant.

Studies carried out by NASA show pineapple plants produce more oxygen and improve air quality during the night, reports the  Derby Telegraph .

So if you have one in your bedroom, the idea is that it’ll help you or your partner stop snoring.

And Asda has put it on the shelves for the price of just £10 – and the bonus is that it’s a pretty attractive looking plant too.

The plants have been grown in Holland and take between 21 and 24 months to produce a miniature pineapple, which grows from the top.

The bad news is that you won’t be able to eat the pineapple itself, because it’s inedible.

When the plant was first stocked in 2017, Asda plant buyer Phil Smith said: “Night-time snorts, snuffles and splutters affect a quarter of Brits, so for those 16 million snorers, Asda’s pineapple plant could be a dream come true – even more-so for sleep-deprived partners.

“For those lucky enough to sleep through the night without the disturbance of snoring, the plant is a chic addition to the home which is easy to care for and adds a little touch of the tropics to any room.”

The plant is now back on sale, but sadly, you can’t order it online, as it’s only available in store.
